RICHMOND, VA – Baskervill, the multi-disciplinary design practice founded in Richmond in 1897, has been named to the Inc. 5000 – the annual list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. Ranking at 4,486, Baskervill joins a prestigious group of the nation’s most successful companies – from powerhouse entities such as Microsoft and Dell to small, independent businesses gaining their first national exposure as an Inc. 5000 honoree. Started in 1982, this prestigious list has become the hallmark of entrepreneurial success. For Baskervill, it is the reflection of a continually evolving entrepreneurial spirit.
It’s not often a firm of this age gets noticed for growth; in fact, the average company age on the list is less than 20 years. This year’s Inc. 5000 was ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2015 and 2018; Baskervill posted an impressive 66% three-year increase during the same period. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2015. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2018. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2015 is $100,000; the minimum for 2018 is $2 million.
